Performance Validation will be co-sponsors of this weekend’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, (STEM) outreach event with The Society of Women Engineers and the Kalamazoo AirZoo. The 2015 Corporate Engineering Challenge is designed to introduce young girls to engineering concepts through hands-on activities, interaction with female engineers, and collaboration on a challenge team. Some of the other sponsors include Perrigo, Zoetis, Stryker, and Pfizer.
Performance Validation will have a booth where our volunteers will interact with as many as 500 girls and their families Saturday morning (21 February, 2015). Each sponsor’s booth will have activities to help demonstrate scientific thinking and engineering concepts. At the Performance Validation booth, activities will focus on material testing with different candies and make hover crafts! Tiffany Sherburn has volunteered to be our “Team Mentor” for the day. She will lead 6 girls though each of the booths during the morning and mentor them during the afternoon engineering challenge.
Performance Validation is pleased to support The Society of Women Engineers and this weekend’s event will be a great opportunity to encourage young girls to get involved and stay interested in STEM careers!
